Portretai: Saulakis

I cannot read your language but we both speak the language of flowers. I couldn’t refrain from responding when you feature Heliopsis ‘Lorraine Sunshine’. I successfully transplanted a good sized clump from my sister’s garden this summer. I put it in a less organized part of my garden near 3 different grasses. We had our dryest ever July and August–Starting Aug. 30 until now we had as much rain as we had in the previous 4 months. ‘Lorraine Sunshine’ responded well to increased moisture and has been blooming for 6 weeks. Beautiful! and the variagated foilage has persisted. I’ve added a couple daylillies which will add pale yellow and rust next summer. Self procreated purple New England aster is nearby and I’ve added Montauk Daisy nearby (which has not come into bloom yet.

    I loved your photos.

Thanks, Chris. I really love heliopsis ‚Loraine Sunshine‘. It works nicely through the summer in my garden too. And it tolerates a pretty heavy clay soil. Your plant combinations sound great: nice warm colours and contrasting foliages. I like a little bit of white between yellows. The white foliage of heliopsis and white daisies might add some magic shivering effect and lightness to the garden. Good luck!
